However hard it is to believe, the 4th of July is already right around the corner.  Since Independence Day falls on a Wednesday this year, you’d think traveling to a destination would be lower on everyone’s priority list.  That’s not the case, according to a 4th of July travel study by AAA.  In fact, more people than ever are planning to travel to a destination this year.

If you’re not planning to travel outside of the Houston area this year, don’t fret, as there are still many Amazing things to do in our community.

The Woodlands 4th of July Parade

The 43rd annual South County 4th of July parade will start at 9AM in The Woodlands Town Center and the theme is “United We Stand”.  There will be two Amazing Grand Marshals this year: Christine Clinkenbeard has been named Community Grand Marshal, for her efforts in helping Hurricane Harvey victims and Charles Abel, retired Lt. Commander of the U.S. Navy, has been named Military Grand Marshal. The parade extends over 1.3 miles long and has over 145 entries, including floats, street performers, marching bands, fire engines, and more!  Over 20,000 individuals are expected to attend this Amazing event!

 

 


The Woodlands 4th of July Red, Hot, & Blue Festival

There’s no better way to celebrate our county’s independence than at the Red, Hot, & Blue festival in The Woodlands.  There will be live entertainment, activities for children and families, and fun for everyone!  The event peaks at night with an Amazing fireworks display.  Listen to music with the fireworks at Woodlands Hits online radio station.  Watch fireworks on Lake Woodlands (primary location), Town Green Park (close proximity to display), Waterway Square District (near Timberlock Place/Waterway Ave), or the Village of Creekside Park (near Rob Fleming Park).


Freedom Over Texas at Eleanor Tinsley

Join in on the Houston area’s largest celebration: the Freedom Over Texas music festival and fireworks show at Eleanor Tinsley Park in Houston.  This Amazing event will feature music from Chris Young and special guests The Mavericks.  After the concert, enjoy Amazing fireworks!  Tickets are only $8 and can be purchased online.


CityCentre Houston Fireworks

Join in on the fun at the CityCentre Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular.  Join in on the fun from 7 PM to 11PM.  There will be music by Texas Ulimited Band and a 15 minute fireworks spectacle will start at 9:30PM.  Parking will be $10, so please be sure to have cash handy!


Galveston 4th of July Extravaganza

If you feel the urge to leave the city, but don’t want to go too far away from home, consider going to the Fourth of July Celebration in beautiful Galveston!  This event features both a parade and fireworks!  Fireworks over the Gulf of Mexico?! What could be more Amazing than that!  The parade starts at 7:00PM so be sure to grab your seats. Unlike most events we’ve seen, this event is not “rain or shine”, if rain does occur, the event will be postponed until July 5th.


Star Spangled Salute by the Houston Symphony

There are a few different places you can go to enjoy the annual Star Spangle Salute by the Houston Symphony this 4th of July.  The Cynthia Woods Mitchel Pavilion in The Woodlands will host the  Star Spangled Salute July 3rd, with gates opening at 6PM. What an Amazing way to kick of the 4th of July festivities!

The Miller Theatre will host the Star-Spangled Salute on July 4th at 8:30PM and will finish the concert with a round of fireworks (starting at 10PM).  This is a Houston favorite event, so be sure to grab tickets in advance. Free tickets are available (4 per person over the age of 16), but are limited in their availability.  Pick up your tickets at the Miller Outdoor Theater box office the day of the event between 10:30 AM and 1PM.


Wet ‘N’ Wild Splashtown 4th of July Fireworks Show

Stay close to home and enjoy the 4th of July firework at Wet ‘N’ Wild Splashtown. There will be music, prizes and fun to celebrate our nation’s independence.


4th of July Celebration and Street Festival

The city of Tomball will be hosting its annual July 4th celebration and street festival once again this year.  This event is one of the largest 4th of July celebrations in Harris County!  Join in on the food, fun, live music and of course fireworks!  Even better? Both admission and parking are free!


Memorial City Mall

Snowy boots | Amazing Ways to Spend the 4th of July in 2018 | Amazing Spaces Storage CentersStop by Memorial City Mall before the fireworks for their Snow and Ice Celebration! Stay away from the Houston Heat with over 30,000 pounds of snow!  Frozen treats and Patriotic food will also be available. Plus witness a live action ice sculpture being made!  Adults will enjoy live music from Houston’s premiere 80’s tribute band, the Ruxpins from 2-4PM!  The festivities will occur on July fourth from 1-4PM, so be sure to join in on the fun!


Kemah Boardwalk

There’s always something fun happening at the Kemah Boardwalk!  Join in on live music and an Amazing fireworks show over Galveston Bay at 9:30PM.  Pro Tip: Take advantage of the Patriot Pass, which gives you unlimited visits to Pleasure pier, Kemah Boardwalk, and the downtown Aquarium from 4-8PM!


Bellaire 4th of July

The City of Bellaire will be hosting fun events throughout the day on the 4th of July, starting with a parade at 9:30 AM. Following the parade is a community festival until 1PM.  Bring the kids and enjoy a very Patriotic and Amazing afternoon!
