Friends of St Jude 7th Annual Crawfish Boil Date: Saturday May 2, 2015  | Time: 1-4 PMLocation: Goode’s Armadillo Palace

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is having it’s 7th annual crawfish boil with food, drinks, and entertainment.Early Bird Tickets purchase online are $35 (until Friday, May 1 at noon) and $40 at the door. Tickets include all you can eat crawfish, beer, live entertainment, and an event T-shirt!

17th Annual Spring Fine Arts Festival- Free EventDate: Saturday May 2, 2015 | Time: 10AM – 7PM

Location: Market Street

The 17th Annual Spring Fine Arts Show & Festival will be held at Market Street on Saturday, May 2 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Amatuer and professional artists within the area will be displaying their works including photography, pottery, wood carvings, metal-works, digital art, mixed media, paintings, and more! There will also be live music and entertainment, art demonstrations, art activities, children’s games and activities, shopping opportunities, and so much more for the whole family to enjoy!

*In the event of rain, the 17th Annual Spring Fine Arts Show & Festival at Market Street will be rescheduled to May 9

Location: Discovery Green Park, Houston

Lemonade Day is an educational community event designed to teach children how to start, own, and operate their very own business – a lemonade stand!

Liberty Branch Red Rock & Blues Sunday Concert SeriesDate: Sunday May 3, 2015 | Time: Noon – 6PM

Location: Liberty Branch in Creekside Park

The Red Rock & Blues Sunday Concert Series, Model Home Tour, and Picnic in the Park will be held in the village of Creekside Park in The Woodlands on Sunday May 3rd. There will be a picnic in Liberty Park, food trucks, live family-friendly music, and model home tours!

The festivities will start at Noon and last until 6:00 p.m. Live music performances will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.


 

iron kids race houstonChildren’s Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS Texas Fun RunDate: Saturday May 9, 2015 | Time: 9:00 AM

Location: Town Green Park – The Woodlands

Kicking off the 2015 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas, the First Annual IRONKIDS Texas Fun Run will be held in The Woodlands on Saturday, May 9 at 9:00a.m. Kids ages 3-15 will be participating in this event for a 1/4-mile or 1-mile fun run from Town Green Park to Goose’s Acre and then ending back at the park. Each IRONKID will receive a goodie bag including temporary tattoos, stickers, shirt or hat, race bib, bracelet, and a finisher medal! The registration cost is $15 per runner and $4 of each registration will go to benefit the Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital!

Location: Sam Houston Race Park- Houston, TX

The 5K race that will send you through numerous color stations and leave you covered from head to toe in powders and gels of pink, yellow, green, blue, and violet is back again this year! They have partnered with local charity Cy-Hope to help improve the lives of children in our community. You can register online and get more information here


 

end hunger in houston11th Annual Empty Bowls HoustonDate: Saturday May 16, 2015 | Time: 11Am – 3PM

Location: Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

Empty Bowls Houston is presented by Whole Food Market and implemented locally by Houston-area ceramists. It is an effort started by artists and craftspeople in cities across the country to feed the hungry in their communities.

For a minimum $25 donation, attendees have the pleasure of selecting a bowl from hundreds of one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted bowls donated by Houston area ceramists and craft artists, then receive a simple lunch of soup donated by Whole Foods Market and freshly prepared by Houston Food Bank Community Kitchen. The empty bowls serve as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community and around the world. Pottery and woodturning demonstrations and live music will be featured.

texas-ironman2015 Memorial Hermann Ironman  Date: Saturday May 16, 2015

The 2015 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas will be held in The Woodlands on Saturday, May 16. The race includes a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Woodlands, a 112-mile scenic bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run. Participants will run across the finish line on Waterway Avenue.

IRONMAN Texas Triathlon will begin with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Woodlands from Northshore Park to Town Green Park, which will serve a transition point. Following the swim is a 112-mile, one-loop bike ride that will take you through the scenic routes of The Woodlands and rolling hills of East Texas farmlands. The 26.2-mile run will be the final feat, to finish at Waterway Avenue as spectators cheer and congratulate each runner over the finish line.


 

The woodlands memorial dayMemorial Day Weekend Celebration- Free Event!Date: Saturday May 23, 2015 & Sunday May 24, 2015 | Time: 6:00-9:00 PM

Location: Town Green Park- The Woodlands

The Woodlands will be hosting a Memorial Day Weekend Celebration on Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24 at Town Green Park. There will be a fireworks show each night (starting at approximately 8:55 pm), live music and entertainment, balloon artists, face painting, exciting games and activities, vendor booths, and so much more for the whole family to enjoy! Admission to the event is free.
