In Houston, we always need to start with food
Start your weekend on the right foodie foot by attending one of the many delectable events throughout the Houston community. You really can’t beat the list available on 365 Things to Do In Houston. From a Brew Cruise to a Banh Mi eating contest (for real!), you’ll find something to do that will make you and your stomach happy.
Take the family to a fun market or festival
There are a few different farmer’s markets happening in our neighborhoods this weekend. Two noteworthy events: Wunderlich Farms and The Woodlands Farmer’s Market at Grogan’s Mill. You’ll feel like you stepped in a time machine with your family at Wunderlich Farms. Buy some fresh and Amazing foods and spend a glorious afternoon cooking up something yummy with your family.
Farmer’s Market not your thing this weekend? Venture out of your bubble to try out the Artisan Market at The Phoenix on Westheimer in Houston. Art, makers, and a crawfish boil come together to make this one way to make your weekend fantastic.
Are you near The Woodlands? Join in on the 2017 Memorial Day Weekend Festival and Fireworks show on Sunday in Town Green Park. An Amazing event for the entire family, this event pays tribute to all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country’s military. There will be activities for children and fireworks show, weather permitting.
If you’re closer to our Spring and Cy-Fair service areas, try venturing a bit west out to the Cypress Creek Lakes Big Summer Fun festival on Saturday. 10 of Houston’s best food trucks, kids activities, fireworks, and FREE cupcakes, ice cream, and shaved ice! Join your community at a music and food filled fun event.
Take time to remember our heroes throughout the 2017 Memorial Day weekend
Remember to spend time honoring our fallen heroes. Houston has a variety of events and activities available to ensure you make this 2017 Memorial Day count. Visit the World War II Memorial in the Heights with your family. Attend the 2017 Memorial Day Ceremony at Houston National Cemetery at 9:30AM on Memorial Day. Towne Lake will have a beautiful memorial celebration with a lakeside Memorial Day Lantern Lighting.
