4th of July Events in Houston

If you’re looking for something fun and exciting to do this Fourth of July weekend in the Houston area you’re in luck. There are so many great events happening and almost all of them are free! Amazing 4th Of July Events We Love:

Southwest Airlines Freedom Over Texasfreedom-over-texas-houston-tx 2– At Eleanor Tinsley Park, July 4th 4pm-10pm. $10 at gate (children under 5 are free)

This 4th of July Celebration has been a tradition in Houston for decades. Located in the newly renovated Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou, it has become Houston’s signature annual Independence Day celebration.


 

bayou bendJuly 4th Celebration at Bayou Bend- At Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, July 4th 1pm-5pm. Free admission.

Featuring performers, crafts, activities, refreshments, and much more, the Museum of Fine Arts celebrates Independence Day at Houston’s home for American decorative arts and paintings. A reading of the Declaration of Independence starts at 3pm followed by birthday cake!


 

woodlands saluteHouston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute– At the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, July 3rd 6:30pm. Free admission.

Celebrate America’s birthday with a bang at the annual Star-Spangled Salute. This  Independence Eve spectacular, which has been a tradition at The Pavilion for 25 years, features the Houston Symphony in a selection of patriotic favorites.


 

red hot and blue17th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival– At The Woodlands Town Center, July 4th 6pm-10pm. Free admission.

In addition to live bands, the festivities will also include face painting, games, vendor booths and concessions. There will also be two eating contests featuring a couple of American staple foods- hot dogs and watermelon! End the night at Waterway Square for the fireworks extravaganza.


 

galveston paradeIndependence Day Parade and Firework Show– At Seawall Boulevard from 28th Street to 53rd Street in Galveston, July 4th 7:30pm-9:30pm. Free admission.

Galveston Island’s annual Independence Day Parade will begin at 7:30pm and will feature local groups, performers, creative floats and decorated military vehicles. When the parade has ended, you can go to 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard to view the fireworks show at over the Gulf.
